Treatment for Hallux Valgus
What is hallux valgus?
This deformity of the forefoot can have a number of causes: it can be hereditary, the result of an inflammatory illness, or it can develop following regular wear of unsuitable shoes (pointed toes, too narrow, high heels). It is a foot deformity that affects 9 out of 10 women.
Hallux valgus often causes redness and pain where the bunion is, at the base of the big toe. In cases with significant angulation, it can also lead to the big toe overlapping the second toe.Â
